The Sophos 10GbE Fiber Transceiver Short Range connects a compatible SFP+ port over multimode fibre. It operates with 10GBase-SR at a link speed of 10 GbE. Suitable for fast multimode uplinks in data centres or between network racks.
Before selecting a transceiver, check its approval for the specific firewall or switch model. The remote endpoint, fibre type and optical standard must also match the connection. The achievable distance depends on the installed cabling and its characteristics. A 10-GbE connection requires a suitably supported SFP+ port; a 1-GbE-only SFP port cannot provide 10-GbE connectivity.
