Sophos 5G Module – XGS 116(w)/126(w)/136(w)

The Sophos 5G module adds cellular connectivity to compatible XGS desktop firewalls. It suits sites without suitable fixed-line access or an additional WAN connection whose failover is configured in the firewall.

Compatibility

This module version is intended exclusively for these models:

• XGS 116(w)
• XGS 126(w)
• XGS 136(w)

XGS 118(w), 128(w) and 138 require the separate second-generation 5G module.

Speed

Sophos specifies theoretical maximum speeds of 4.5 Gbit/s download and 660 Mbit/s upload. Actual speed depends on factors including coverage, reception, plan and network congestion. These figures are not guaranteed internet speeds.

Installation

The module is not hot-swappable. Switch off the firewall before installation and insert the SIM card according to the mounting instructions. After restarting, enable Cellular WAN and configure WWAN1 with your mobile provider’s settings, including APN and SIM PIN where required.

A suitable SIM card and data plan are required separately. Use an SFOS version currently supported for the model.
