XGS 118w is a desktop model in generation 2 of the XGS series, improving performance and reducing power consumption compared with the previous generation. The model has an SFP fibre port and integrated 2.5 GE Ethernet interface for fast, stable connectivity. XGS 118w also has an expansion slot for an optional 5G module. The module enables a redundant cellular connection or a cost-effective 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) solution. XGS 118w suits small offices, branches and retail stores needing powerful, reliable networking.
The optimised thermal design keeps XGS 118w quiet, suiting noise-sensitive healthcare, education and retail environments. Virtual FastPath technology accelerates data processing on XGS 118w. It also provides TLS inspection, Deep Packet Inspection and Application Acceleration for the ‘See it. Stop it. Secure it’ approach and efficient inspection of encrypted traffic.
XGS 118w combines strong networking performance, innovative technology and security in a compact desktop appliance.

Manufacturer warranty and service
12-month basic manufacturer warranty
Sophos’s basic manufacturer warranty runs for twelve months from processing the partner’s order. Enhanced Support adds advance hardware replacement during a valid, continuous support contract, under manufacturer terms and within the supported hardware lifecycle.
3 SFOS upgrades included
Without a support subscription, three free SFOS version upgrades are available. Further regular upgrades require Enhanced Support or Enhanced Plus Support. Hotfixes and certain mandatory or setup-wizard upgrades are exempt.
Technical vendor support
Technical vendor support depends on the active contract. Enhanced Support provides 24/7 support and is included in Standard Protection and Xstream Protection, or can be purchased separately.

Base License

Sophos Fusion Firewall Management
Sophos Fusion provides central firewall management, cloud backups and scheduled firmware updates. An active support subscription, individual security subscription or licence bundle is required; Base License alone is insufficient. Regular firmware upgrades still require suitable support.
Sophos Fusion Firewall Reporting
With an active support or security subscription, or a licence bundle, cloud reports provide up to seven days of history. Base License alone excludes this service. Central Orchestration adds Advanced Reporting with 30 days; additional capacity is licensed separately.
